P.O.U.C.H. Program
The Save A P.O.U.C.H. program started its operation on February 1992 through the leadership of Dr. Genevieve Ledesma-Tan, President of SEED Foundation Academy. P.O.U.C.H is an acronym for Poor Urban Child, an outreach program that addresses the daily nutritional and schooling needs of poor but deserving school children. The program has raised funds through individual and group solicitation, and has expanded to include medical missions for the beneficiaries. For school year 2005 - 2006, there are 327 P.O.U.C.H. beneficiaries enrolled in 4 adopted schools namely CAA Elementary School, Daniel Fajardo Elementary School, BF Learning Center, and Masville Elementary School.
The programs of the P.O.U.C.H. for this school year are the feeding program, educational supplies distribution, tuition fee subsidy, medical mission, and gift giving during Christmas. There is also the Operation Paglingap in times of calamites. Each level from grade 3 to grade 11 holds a special P.O.U.C.H. day where each student adopts a P.O.U.C.H. for a day and interacts with a beneficiary. The International Baccalaureate students also conduct computer classes for P.O.U.C.H. beneficiaries. Truly, the P.O.U.C.H. program has helped disadvantaged poor children attend regular schooling, and look forward to a better future.
