Lower School

The SISC Grade School Division ( Lower School ) is a community that develops academically competent, discipline, and well-rounded Grade School students, in preparation for life and for the challenges of an academically excellent High School ( (Upper School ) program through values driven, intellectually challenging and relvant 5Cs curriculum, and excellent and competent educators, within a safe and positive learning environment.

Creative Mathematics Program (CREAM) Computer Applications in Microsoft Office for Grade School:

a) Grade 3 - Print Shop Essentials

b) Grade 4 - MS Word

c) Grade 5 - MS Power Point (graphics & multimedia presentation)

d) Grade 6 - MS Excel (creating charts and managing numerical data using an electronic spreadsheet)

e) Grade 7 - MS Power Point, MS Excel Social Living and Global Education (S.L.G.E.) Students develop global awareness and leadership skills.

Leadership opportunities wherein students are alternately assigned as class leader are provided.

Enhanced Musical Instruments Program (EMIP)

EMIP goes beyond students' learning the rudiments of Music; it allows them to learn to play different musical instruments.

Music Instrument Specialization Program (MISP)

An extension of the EMIP that creates a venue for musically smart students to pursue furthertraining in playing band or orchestral instrument.

Gender-Free Home Economics Program

Boys and Girls learn Personality Development (Social Graces)

Home Management (Handicrafts Table Setting)

 Food & Nutrition (Cooking)

Gender - Free Technology Program

Boys and Girls learn Light Wood Working Specialized Art Program

Basic Skills in Cartooning, Paper Art, Mastery of Different Art Media, Art Crafts, and Print Making are taught

Physical Education

Sports like Badminton, Volleyball and Basketball ; Dancing, Physical Exercises are held in air-conditioned and open-air gymnasiums. Soccer, Baseball, at the multi-purpose open field.

Character Building and Guidance Programs Focused on Achievers Core Training (A.C.T.) and Emotional Quotient (E.Q.)

The programs guide students to become goal-oriented, achievers, (A.C.T.) equipped with interpersonal skills (E.Q.).

Universal Values Program

a) LIFE Functional Skills (L.I.F.E.) - The Universal Values Program focuses on Integrity, Courage Conviction, Interpersonal Relations, Productivity, Creativity, and Excellence.

b) Sponsorship Program to Enrich, Care for, Inspire and Affirm Learners (S.P.E.C.I.A.L) or Guardianship for different levels - Students are assigned teachers, responsible staff, orofficers who guide them as they face challenges and concerns that go with their various developmental stages.

Computer - Assisted Instruction (CAI)

This methodology is used in Math, Science, and other subjects.

Differentiated Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (D.C.I.A)

This methodology considers Multiple Intelligences, Learning Styles, and various learning modalities, interests, and readiness of students in the delivery of instruction.

G.I.D.E.S. (Giftedness through Inter-Disciplinary Educational Strategies)

Program Students become active participants in their own learning and experience a deeper absorption of knowlege and skills through lessons that are integrated in various subject areas.

R.C.C.C.P.S.A.=E.L.

(Recall, Comprehension, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Problem Solving and Application = Enduring Learning)

Lesson Plans & Instruction are directed towards Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRs) competencies and performance standards moving from simple recall, basic understanding, to Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) using the Brain-Based Learning approach.

Advanced Learning Program (A.L.P.)

This program is for academically gifted learners in a particular subject and/or for very high achievers in Math, Science and English.

V.A.T. (Vision and Task) Circle

This is a weekly enhancement program for achievers and/or intellectually gifted children.

P.A.S.S. Research (Grade 6-7)

The program includes research paper writing and oral defense.

Cultural Shows

Students are given the opportunities to watch and participate in cultural shows, e.g., stage plays to nurture their appreciation for and cultivate their talents in the performing arts.

Field Trips

Students are given educational opportunities to learn outside the school through visits to museums, theaters, parks, and manufacturing sites.

The clubs offer a wide variety of team and major sports where the students' energies are channeled during P.E. and after school hours. Students who excel in various sports are eligible to join the Varsity.
