In line with Southville International School and Colleges’ commitment to making learning enduring and a lot of fun. Southville launched the ABACUS Mental Arithmetic as a new and innovative program for Senior Prep - Grade 7 students involving calculations and solving math problems.

The ABACUS Mental Arithmetic Program aims to:

Enhance concentration
Develop mental calculation abilities
Sharpen memory
Improve proficiency and confidence in Arithmetic and Math
Increase mental capacity, and
Develop good study habits

Research has shown that students who excell in math have high levels of concentration, mental discipline and abstraction. ABACUS Mental Arithmetic teaches students the basic requisites of good mathematical skills thus focusing more on developing basic skills in computation and manipulation of beads through the use of the Abacus instrument.
