Technopreneurship Highlighted in BSBA-IT Week

Reaching Globalization through Business and Technology was this year’s theme of the BSBA and BS IT Week.

Highlighting the event was the sharing of insights from the gurus of Information Technology and Business namely Ms. Lyn Reyes and Mr. Isamu Shinozaki of Microsoft, Mr. Nelson Celis, President of Philippine Computer Society, and Ms. Leonor Abella, the Vice President for Promotions of PHILEXPORT. Respective speakers underscored the role of technology in doing businesses successful not only locally but in the international market as well.

 

Apart from the seminars and lectures, the students had the opportunity to showcase their creativity and intellectual prowess during the Programming Competition for BS IT and the Business Plan competition for the BS BA students. Emerging champions were Romyr Reyes, Jerald Calpo and Mark Salibio who designed an online ordering system. The top winners in the Business Plan Competition was the group called Junky Couture composed of Junas Rojo, Mayflor Ramos, Fergus Ann Sabidong, Joanaline Jotojo, Mark Christopher Biana and Marichelle Iiyama, who focused on redesigning and reinventing old T-shirts.
