Upper/Lower School Features


UNDERSTANDING BY DESIGN
Called the "Backward Design Model," Understanding by Design is a learning methodology that starts with a clear picture of desired results based on a "big idea" to ensure enduring learning.

RESEARCH PAPER WRITING
Graduating students in Lower School and Upper School are tasked to write a research paper where they apply technical writing skills and statistical know-how. Each student is assigned a faculty member to serve as research mentor throughout the research process.

GENDER FREE SKILLS
Students, regardless of gender, are taught Basic Engineering (Woodworking, Plumbing, Electronics, Automotive, Electronics, Drafting, Architectural Drawing, Housewiring), and Home Management (Handicrafts, Table Setting, Cooking) skills. Southville also offers world class technology training as the only official Microsoft IT academy south of Metro Manila.

VICTORS SPORTS PROGRAM
Southville offers a wide variety of team sport during P.E., and after class hours. The students’ energies are channeled towards major sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, among others. Those who excel in a particular discipline are eligible to join the varsity programs.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS PROGRAM
Students freely learn how to play different musical instruments. Musically smart students can pursue further development through orchestral training and by joining the music instrument specialization program.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM
Students are encouraged to develop their entrepreneurial skills through events during the year where they sell goods/services in school. Business subjects are taught to the students to support this program namely Microeconomics, Accounting, Investment Management, Entrepreneurship, and other pre-college business courses.
